Tonos Lab graduate students returned from a field season in Mananara, Madagascar! Working in some very challenging terrain, the team conducted point counts and vegetation surveys to better understand how habitat degradation is shaping Malagasy bird communities. They also collected fecal samples from banded birds to begin resolving the diets of Madagascar’s understudied bird frugivores and their potential roles in seed dispersal and forest regeneration.
